Chapter 299 - 299: The giants' architect
"Bring me the best, the smartest Builder we have! Please," I shouted, addressing the Attendants, at least one of which was always waiting within earshot of my study room.
In a moment, the door opened a crack, and I saw Chief Attendant Helping-Hands looking through it—best secretary I could wish for.
"Is this an order to start an examination of all Builders to find the best one, Father?" she asked.
I winced.
"Uh, no! Just… Bring me *a* Builder. A Commander Builder or a Chief Builder—whoever has the free time at the moment."
Helping-Hands' expression cleared.
"Ah, I understand. In an instant, Father! While you wait, do you need snacks or more tea?"
I glanced at my long-empty cup and rubbed my stomach.
"Yes, please."

"What did you need a Builder for, Father?" Commander Builder B666666 asked after entering my study. "Do you need a new room, or to fix something?"
Her head already turned around as the girl looked around in
B666666's shoulders slumped.
"I know the temple must be human-big, but we could've still done something… I don't trust humans to do everything well enough—they are too huge and crude!"
"This is how it must be," I said sternly. "It's very important for reasons that will just puzzle you even more, B666666. Just do this, and if you can't, I will have to find someone else for this task…"
"No, no, I will do it!"
I chuckled at how B666666 jumped in agitation and began waving her arms.
Not that I expected any other reaction.
"Bring your own paper," I also told her. "The one humans use is too thick for you, and all our forces in the human land have is wax tablets."
I gave B666666 some more instructions, preemptively familiarizing her with the most important people stationed in Farini's surroundings. And Farini himself, too—he was just as important for B666666's work.
"Good luck out there," I finally told the bee while patting her head and ruffling her hair.
She took it with a bashful smile.
"Thank you, Father… I didn't do anything yet, and you already give me headpats! I will alway wear a hat after this day, so the good feeling doesn't escape!" B666666 promised. "Thank you! Thank you for this task, Father!"
And then she bolted out of the room before I could even try to react to this with anything but a bemused grin.
I put a hand over my chest. Moments like these made my heart warm… I felt like sharing this feeling with someone, and I felt like organizing the rest of B666666's mission would be much easier if I had some help.
An image formed in my head, and a telepathic message went toward this person immediately after.
'Amby! Amby, I'm not distracting you from anything, no?'
'Nectus? No, I was just inspecting the brood cells.'
'Well, you won't believe what B666666 just said—our girls can be just too cute sometimes! Anyway, can you please help me out a little, my Empress?'
