Autobiography of Li Yunfei, a time traveler

Chapter 395 Clues

Chapter 395 Clues

Li Yunfei and others decided not to sit and wait for death. They began to search carefully for clues in the town and surrounding areas, trying to find out the origin and purpose of those mysterious black shadows.

The morning sun was still a little soft, and Li Yunfei led everyone to the farmland that had been attacked. The field was in a mess, with crops trampled and tilted, and messy footprints and traces of fighting clearly visible on the soil. Li Yunfei squatted down and carefully observed the footprints, frowning.

"These footprints vary in depth and stride length, which indicates that the group of black shadows have different body shapes and strengths." Li Yunfei said as he gestured with his hands to indicate the size and spacing of the footprints.

Zhang Hao echoed, "And judging from the direction of the footprints, they seem to be retreating in an organized manner, not just fleeing temporarily."

Feng Yu brushed the destroyed crops lightly, the power of fire dancing at her fingertips. "I can sense a trace of evil remaining here. It's very faint, but it does exist."

Mo Ying was moving through the fields like a ghost. His sharp eyes did not miss any subtle clues. Suddenly he stopped beside a big tree and said, "There is a mark here."

Everyone gathered around and saw a strange symbol on the tree trunk, like some kind of secret code.

Lin Yue walked forward and gently touched the symbol with the staff in his hand. He closed his eyes and tried to sense the magical fluctuations in it. "There is a trace of dark magic power left on this symbol, but it is very obscure and difficult to track."

"Anyway, this is the only clue at the moment. Let's continue investigating in this direction," said Li Yunfei.

They followed the direction indicated by the sign and entered a dense forest. The forest was filled with thick fog, and the sunlight shone through the gaps between the leaves, forming mottled light and shadows. The birds' calls seemed particularly abrupt in the silence, making people feel vaguely uneasy.

Li Yunfei walked in front, the artifact in his hand emitted a faint light, illuminating the way forward for everyone. Zhang Hao observed the surroundings vigilantly, holding the spear tightly in his hand. The flame in Feng Yu's hand illuminated a small area around, and Mo Ying hid in the shadows, ready to respond to emergencies at any time. Lin Yue continued to cast detection magic, hoping to find more clues.

Suddenly, a breeze blew, bringing with it a pungent smell.

"Be careful, something's happening!" Li Yunfei said in a low voice.

Everyone stopped and saw an abandoned camp in front of them. The camp was filled with a foul smell and some strange tools and objects were scattered on the ground.

Li Yunfei walked into the camp carefully, picked up an object and examined it carefully. "This seems to be some kind of special weapon, but I have never seen it before."

Zhang Hao found a map in a tent. "Look, this might be their action plan."

Everyone gathered around and looked at the blurry map, which had some strange locations and symbols marked on it.

Lin Yue cast a spell to try to make the writing on the map clearer. "It seems to be pointing to a nearby valley."

"Then let's go to this valley and take a look." Li Yunfei said.

As they walked out of the camp and continued towards the valley, the sky gradually became gloomy and covered with dark clouds, and it seemed that a storm was about to come.

The wind was getting stronger, rustling the leaves. Feng Yu's hair was flying in the wind, and her eyes revealed a hint of worry, "This storm may cover up more clues."

Mo Ying's voice sounded particularly low in the wind. "But it might also make the enemy relax their vigilance."

Li Yunfei looked up at the sky and said, "Hurry up. No matter what, we have to get to the valley before the rain starts."

The crowd struggled forward in the strong wind and finally arrived at the entrance of the valley before the storm came.

The valley was filled with thick fog, making it look eerie and scary.

"Everyone be careful, there may be countless dangers hidden here." Li Yunfei warned.

They walked slowly into the valley, each step full of caution...

Li Yunfei and his companions stepped into the valley, and the humid mist hit them in the face, instantly soaking their clothes. The ground under their feet was muddy, and every step made a "puff" sound.

The peaks on both sides of the valley towered into the clouds, and the steep mountain walls were covered with mosses and ferns. Occasionally, water drops dripped from above, which was particularly clear in the silence. The artifact in Li Yunfei's hand emitted a faint light, barely illuminating the road ahead.

Zhang Hao walked cautiously, his eyes constantly scanning the surroundings, "This place is too weird, everyone must be careful." His voice echoed in the valley with a slight tremor.

The flame in Feng Yu's hand seemed a little dim in the humid air, but she still tried to maintain it, trying to bring more light to everyone. "I always feel like there are countless pairs of eyes staring at us in the darkness." Her voice was full of uneasiness.

Mo Ying was exploring the way ahead like a ghost, his figure looming in the mist. "Quiet, there's movement." He suddenly stopped and made a gesture to silence.

Everyone stopped immediately, not daring to breathe. They only heard a low "woooo" sound coming from the depths of the valley, like the whistling of the wind, or the roar of some monster.

Lin Yue tightly grasped the staff, her lips trembling slightly, "This voice... is creepy."

Li Yunfei took a deep breath and said, "Don't be afraid, let's keep moving forward."

They walked slowly towards the source of the sound. The fog became thicker and thicker, making it almost impossible to see the road ahead. Suddenly, a huge bat flew over their heads, bringing a cool breeze.

"Ah!" Feng Yu couldn't help but scream.

"Hold on!" Li Yunfei shouted.

As they continued walking, they found some strange footprints on the ground, which were larger and messier than those they had found in the farmland before.

"What kind of monster left this?" Zhang Hao squatted down and measured the size of the footprint with his fingers.

At this moment, a gust of wind blew past, dispersing some of the fog, and a huge cave appeared before their eyes. The entrance of the cave was filled with a black aura that made people shudder.

Li Yunfei approached the cave, and the light of the artifact illuminated the entrance of the cave. He saw that the cave wall was covered with unknown vines, and on the vines hung fruits that flashed with strange light.

"What is this?" Feng Yu curiously wanted to reach out and touch it.

"Don't move!" Lin Yue hurriedly stopped him, "This may be highly poisonous."

Mo Ying walked into the cave carefully and used his short blade to gently push aside the vines. Suddenly, a violent roar came from deep in the cave, shaking the entire valley.

"Not good, retreat quickly!" Li Yunfei shouted.

Everyone retreated quickly, only to see a huge monster rushing out of the cave. The monster was as big as a mountain, with sharp thorns all over its body and its eyes flashing blood-red light.

"Get ready for battle!" Li Yunfei raised the magic weapon again.

Zhang Hao held up his spear, "Come on, beast!"

Feng Yu waved his hands, the flames instantly grew larger, and pounced towards the monster.

Mo Ying flashed and went behind the monster, looking for an opportunity to attack.

Lin Yue continued to cast magic to increase everyone's defense and strength.

The monster opened its bloody mouth and spewed out a stream of black flames. Li Yunfei and others quickly dodged, and the flames burned the surrounding grass and trees.

Li Yunfei took advantage of the gap between the monster's attacks and leaped onto the monster's back, stabbing it hard with the magic weapon. The monster felt pain and swung its body wildly, trying to throw Li Yunfei off.

Zhang Hao took the opportunity to stab the monster's leg with his spear. The monster staggered and almost fell.

Feng Yu's flames continuously attacked the monster's eyes, making it unable to see the target clearly.

Mo Ying found the right moment and stabbed the monster's abdomen with the short blade.

With everyone's concerted efforts, the monster finally fell to the ground, letting out an unwilling roar.

"Finally solved." Zhang Hao said, panting.

However, before they could breathe a sigh of relief, a burst of dense footsteps was heard in the cave again.

"Is there another monster?" Lin Yue's face turned pale.

Li Yunfei held the artifact tightly, "Get ready for new challenges!"

I saw a group of dark shadows rushing out of the cave, their figures blurred in the fog.

"It's those mysterious people from before!" Feng Yu exclaimed.

A fierce battle started again...
