Chapter 261: STRESSED OUT EUNWOO
Chapter 261: STRESSED OUT EUNWOO
THINGS were currently completely messed up. That was the only thought running through Eunwoo’s head as he sat in the stiff chair across from the PD’s desk. Suho was next to him, looking just as uneasy. They’d been waiting here for what felt like forever, though it had probably only been a few minutes.
Eunwoo closed his eyes and let his mind drift back to what had happened. After Haneul passed out, he’d scooped him up and carried him all the way to the minivan parked near the entrance. By then, people were already staring. If what Suho and Jeon Hyunsik had said was true, and Haneul really was in heat, then things could get messy fast. Eunwoo was a Beta, so he couldn’t really smell whatever pheromones Haneul might be giving off right now. But he knew that if there were any Alphas among the tourists nearby, staying there any longer would only make things worse. A lot worse.
The two staff members seemed to realize the same thing and quickly took charge. One of them and the driver climbed into the minivan with Eunwoo and Haneul. The other staff member stayed behind with the cameraman, Suho, and Jeon Hyunsik. With Suho and Jeon Hyunsik both being Alphas, there was no way they could ride in an enclosed vehicle with an Omega in heat. So the remaining staff would probably handle getting them back to the ship. The cameraman might have stayed to maybe keep an eye on Jeon Hyunsik.
Jeon Hyunsik, that bastard.
If what Haneul had said was true, and what Suho had added supported it, then Jeon Hyunsik was the reason Haneul had suddenly gone into heat. Eunwoo had a pretty good idea how he’d done it. That was why, when they arrived at the hospital, Eunwoo told the staff they should take a sample of his own blood. They could check if there were any substances in it that matched whatever was in Haneul’s bloodstream that had caused this sudden heat. Even though he hadn’t known Haneul long, he was pretty sure the other wasn’t the type to forget his suppressants. Which meant this heat was most likely forced.
When the staff looked at him in confusion after he mentioned the blood sample, Eunwoo explained his reasoning. He told her about the iced tea that both he and Haneul had drunk. Jeon Hyunsik was the only one who could have tampered with their two glasses. If his goal was to force Haneul into heat, there was no way he could have known which glass Haneul would pick. The only way to guarantee Haneul drank the spiked one was to put whatever he used in both glasses. And since Eunwoo didn’t get affected, this drug might not work with Betas.
The staff seemed to grasp how serious the situation was. She quickly arranged for Eunwoo’s blood to be drawn while a doctor checked on Haneul. After that, Eunwoo wasn’t sure what happened next. The driver took him back to the ship, while the staff stayed behind at the hospital with Haneul.
When he arrived at the ship, a staff member led him straight to the PD’s office. Based on how the staff acted, it was clear that news of what had happened to their team had already reached them. Suho was already there waiting. Before leaving, the staff told him the PD would speak with them later and that they just needed to wait here. Which brought them to the present moment.
"Eunwoo hyung, do you think I got Hyunsik hyung in trouble?" Suho asked suddenly. His voice pulling Eunwoo out of his thoughts.
Eunwoo glanced at him. Suho’s face was troubled, his brows drawn together. "No. Whatever happens to him is his own fault. You had nothing to do with it."
"Do you really think Hyunsik hyung was the one who made Haneul go into heat like that?" Suho asked, his voice uncertain.
"I don’t know," Eunwoo said. Even though he believed Jeon Hyunsik was the one responsible, there wasn’t enough proof yet. So he couldn’t sound too sure. "But whatever really happened, if someone asks you any questions later, just tell them the truth. I’m sure the production team will get to the bottom of it."
Suho was quiet for a moment, then nodded. "Okay. I will."
"But where is Hyunsik-ssi?" Eunwoo asked after a moment. "Did they take him to a different room when you two got here?"
"I don’t know either," Suho said, shaking his head. His voice was quiet, almost hesitant. "When we got here, two staff members took him somewhere else, and I was brought straight here to the PD’s office. I haven’t seen him since."
Eunwoo nodded. He had a feeling they’d already separated Jeon Hyunsik from everyone else. There wasn’t any solid proof yet, but the accusation itself was serious. An Alpha deliberately trying to force an Omega into heat was essentially sexual assault. That wasn’t something anyone could just brush off or ignore.
Honestly, Eunwoo couldn’t understand why Jeon Hyunsik would even do something like this. Did he really think he’d get away with it? And where did he even get a drug like that? Had he brought it with him before they even got on the ship? Did that mean he’d always planned to use it on some Omega? But why would he risk it? He had to know there was no guarantee he wouldn’t get caught. Was his perverseness really that much stronger than his desire to debut?
Jeon Hyunsik also probably hadn’t counted on Haneul having enough sense to point the finger at him. He’d likely assumed Haneul would just suffer through it quietly. But seriously, the real question here was, what was Jeon Hyunsik even hoping to get out of this? Did he think he could take advantage of Haneul while he was out of it? And where exactly did he plan to do that? It wasn’t like he could drag Haneul into some empty corner and have his way with him with no one noticing.
Eunwoo shook his head. Maybe he couldn’t understand because he didn’t think the same way Jeon Hyunsik did. He was normal. The other clearly wasn’t.
Just then, the door to the office opened, and the PD walked in.
