—●『STATUS CLOSED』●—
I scanned through my status window calmly. Or well, calmly wouldn't be the perfect word because seeing the stats go up was always enjoyable.
Although the physical stats were within normal development, reaching the same rank as my core was strange, considering how much I had suffered in the loops.
But it seems all that excessive energy had gone into balancing them equally rather than letting them grow linearly.
My Intrinsic Attributes, which were the most difficult to increase since they rarely improved even during rank-ups, were mostly unchanged except for Will.
A stat directly linked to my mind.
Though I found it strange that even after all the shit I went through, it was still at such a mere B rank.
Shouldn't it have reached at least S-Rank or higher? But then again, that stat had always been one of the hardest to raise, even in the novel.
Even Noah, the so-called chosen one of the world, the one and only protagonist, had only ever reached S-Rank Will, even at the end when he stood at the peak of mortal realm.
So yeah… I guess I should just be satisfied with what I got. Except for that, there was one more thing which made me kinda annoyed.
My martial arts mastery.
Even after so many days, I had barely reached the second rank of mastery. But then again, I have been running around so much instead of actually training, so it was expected.
With a promise to improve over the next few days, I moved on to check the more important things.
My skills.
But before that, there was one more thing I needed to see. I focused on my flaw details, narrowing my attention to exactly what I wanted.
My death timer.
[Remaining Time: 44D 20H]
I had forty-four days to live.
The academy assessment exam would take place in twenty-five or so days, and if I factored in the time needed to travel to that world, the one that held the cure…
Yeah.
I wouldn't make it.
But honestly, I had known that from the beginning. Hell, I had even spent time planning about where I would find the thing to deal with it but then Seraphina dropped the Treasury bomb and I immediately knew where to go.
I did have other options, places where I could have obtained the same thing, but they would've cost me time.
So the Treasury was a lifesaver.
Now, I just hoped Bearlo had managed to retrieve what I asked for.
There were exactly two things. One was an artifact that would make Varek's life absolute hell. The other was the thing which would help me deal with my little time problem.
A particular flower.
Soulbloom.
It was a flower that bloomed from the essence of millions of dead people, and with the Treasury's track record, I was sure even more had died there.
The real problem had been finding it but that was solved by Winter, who told me the location directly.
So the moment I saw Bearlo, I sent him to fetch that flower first. I had clearly warned him to get it at any cost and only go after the other item once he had it.
If Bearlo couldn't get it… then, well, it would mess up my plans quite a bit but nothing ever goes perfectly so I did have other options and plans I would rather not rely on.
Shaking my head, I finally focused on my skills, a new status window appearing before me with everything arranged neatly.
[Registered Skills] →
∟ Skill: Physique of Arcane Trickster
∟ Skill: Trickster's Assistant.
∟ Skill: Draconic Resilience
∟ Skill: Card Of Arcana
∟Skill: Internal Gravity.
∟Skill: Wound Shift (New)
∟Skill: Jester Flame Spell (New)
∟Skill: Forgeheart (New)
—
There were three entirely new skills added to the list.
Two of them were the ones I had awakened after ranking up, while the last one was the Tribute skill I received from Eidolon after accepting him as my assistant.
Honestly, I had checked them once before, but I'd been in too much of a rush back then, and the past few days had been far too hectic to properly go through them.
I didn't bother checking the other skills and focused only on the newly added ones as three smaller status windows appeared in front of me.
—
∟Skill: Wound Shift (New)
[Description: Use mana to instantly swap the position of an existing wound to another part of your body. A fatal or vital injury becomes non-lethal but the damage still exists and still hurts.]
—
∟Skill: Jester Flame Spell (New)
[Description: Your mind has surpassed the limits of those of your rank as you don't need spells to control your affinity anymore. You can command your affinity with the same effectiveness as proper spells.]
—
∟Skill: Forgeheart (New)
[Description: A skill received as a tribute after accepting the Great Blacksmith, Eidolon, as an assistant. The skill makes the user almost immune to fire and allows them to use flame-related spells with greater efficiency and reduced mana consumption.]
—
Yep, just as I had seen before.
I decided to try them out once before heading into my Domain. I picked up a small knife from the table beside my bed and made a shallow cut on my index finger.
Before even a drop of blood could fall onto the sheets, I focused on my Wound Shift skill and touched the cut with the index finger of my other hand.
A golden-colored energy enveloped my finger as it latched onto the wound. When I moved my finger, the wound moved along with it.
Just thinking about the uses of this skill made me smirk. I tested it a few more times before gulping up a healing potion. Only once I was satisfied did I move on to my next skill.
Jestfire Spell.
This one was directly linked to my affinity. So I focused slightly on the ever cheerful sentient flame of mine, and an orb of red flames formed above my palm. The color of my flames had changed after I received the Forgeheart skill.
The fire danced in my hand with a will of its own as I commanded it to form spears. The flames obeyed instantly as three spears took shape in the air above while I felt only a faint drain on my mana.
This was something I could have done before as well, but… Back then, even the smallest manipulation would push my mana and mind to their limits.
But now, I felt nothing at all and it was too effortless.
After that, I tested the skills a few more times before going through the rest to note any differences. But aside from some small, negligible improvements, there was nothing that truly caught my attention.
So, after nearly ten minutes, I was finally done.
I dismissed my status window and closed my eyes, feeling the connection with my Domain. Immediately, I felt a pull as my consciousness was pulled.
A smile appeared on my face as I stepped into my domain because it was finally time to interrogate… Naga.
