Chapter 130: Business
Ji Meiqing refused without even thinking; she was terrible at coming up with names. She couldn't possibly come up with a name that was both artistic and powerful, so she declined.
"You can take them yourselves, I don't need them."
Ji Tianci, however, held her hand, a hint of longing in his eyes. Ji Meiqing grinned, gave a dry laugh, and then tentatively asked, "Red dates, how are they?"
The two fell silent, and Ji Meiqing was slightly disappointed. "I knew it..."
“Red dates are great, let’s call it Red Dates,” Lu Yu was the first to agree, a very sincere smile on his face. Ji Tianci gave him a disdainful look, but didn’t deny it.
The name "Red Date" was decided upon in this way. The three of them unanimously approved it, and then Granny Mei went to clean out a stable for it.
The number of animals in the yard suddenly increased significantly: bird nests in the sycamore tree, chicken coops in the corner, and horse kennels behind the door.
Ji Meiqing glanced around for a moment, then looked away. Hongzao quietly ate grass, occasionally snorting, and then kept an eye on the chickens running around the yard making droppings.
Life is peaceful and leisurely.
It was another bright and sunny day. Lu Yu took Ji Tianci on horseback to the outskirts of the city to participate in the harvest festival. Meanwhile, Ji Meiqing was at home writing a menu. Halfway through, Granny Mei announced that someone had come to visit.
Curious, I put down what I was doing and followed her. I saw Rouge sitting in a chair, leisurely drinking tea and looking around.
"I haven't been here for a few days, and your place has changed quite a bit. You don't look like a rich lady anymore."
Sensing the sarcasm in her words, Ji Meiqing didn't take it to heart, and simply asked, "Has the matter been settled?"
"Is all you ever talk about is business? Can't we just talk about feelings and not business?" she accused loudly.
Ji Meiqing raised an eyebrow and stared straight at her. After a while, feeling bored, she said, "That's about enough. Ji Tianzhuo wanted me to be his concubine and redeem me. I used the money to exchange for someone else. Tell me, how are you going to repay that?"
"what would you like?"
"It sounds like we're plotting something." She smiled, then quickly changed her expression. "I want half of the operating rights to your restaurant."
Ji Meiqing's smile froze on her lips. She looked at Yanzhi and, seeing that she didn't seem to be joking, said, "I can't give you the management rights, but I can give you shares. The annual profit and dividends will be based on the number of shares you own."
"Deal." Rouge smiled innocently, then emphasized, "Don't cheat me."
"How about 20%?"
"This?" She thought for a moment. A 20% profit margin for the year seemed pretty good. She agreed, and Ji Meiqing went to her room to write a contract, only taking it out after the ink had dried.
Rouge glanced at it and signed it directly.
"Okay." She put the pen on the table, then asked somewhat suspiciously, "Is this real?"
"Didn't you see it?" she asked, frowning.
Rouge chuckled dryly, "I can't read."
Ji Meiqing was speechless. After explaining the terms to her, she handed it to her directly. Yan Zhi held it in her arms as if it were a precious treasure.
With things mostly settled, she had the waiter post the notice early the next morning. Once everything was ready, people began arriving at the restaurant one after another, and Ji Meiqing's people led them around the various parts of the establishment.
Rouge also handed over the borrowed girl to her, and Ji Meiqing had them change into hastily made robes and wedge heels.
I temporarily filled in as a waiter today, but thankfully Ji Meiqing had given prior notice, so everything went smoothly. The customers arrived, the food was ready, and business improved considerably.
However, her true intentions lay elsewhere, and she paid no attention to the business outside. The second floor of the restaurant offered a direct view of the kitchen, so she quietly slipped inside.
Everything was normal in the kitchen, but something suddenly happened outside.
The waiter rushed over to see her and told her everything in one breath: "Something happened outside. A customer is acting like he's gone mad and is smashing the table."
Ji Meiqing frowned, and without hesitation, went downstairs. The crazed customer had been subdued, but his eyes were bloodshot, as if he wanted to kill. Ji Meiqing glanced at him and asked the person next to her, "What's wrong with him?"
"I don't know." They also looked blank. Ji Meiqing looked at the food on the table, and her expression suddenly turned cold.
"Who cooked this meal? Bring all the cooks out of the kitchen."
With a cold shout, the others didn't dare to delay and immediately began to work. The cook was brought out, and Ji Meiqing looked over, casually picking up the dishes on the table and asking each one, "Who made these dishes? Take responsibility for them."
As soon as they finished speaking, they immediately went up and took everything they had made.
"Waiter, go find a big yellow dog. I want to see what's going on here."
Her angry shout immediately put an end to the situation. Big Yellow was a dog, common on every street corner, and it was brought over in no time.
Ji Meiqing looked at the dog, then had someone place all the vegetables on the ground. The dog was led to the vegetables and tried them one by one.
Each pause lasted the time it takes for an incense stick to burn. When the third dish was served, the dog suddenly went berserk. She got up, picked up the plate of fried fish, and walked over to the cook who had been holding it.
The cook clearly hadn't expected this situation, and his clothes were instantly soaked with cold sweat.
"What's going on? Can you explain this to me?"
Her words carried an unfathomable coldness. The cook trembled, his voice shaking slightly: "I...I don't know what happened either."
"Don't know?" She sneered again. "Do you think I'm stupid? There are hallucinogenic drugs in here, and you're telling me you don't know how it happened..."
"I really don't know what happened..." He was confused by the situation and didn't know how to explain it. He had put hallucinogenic drugs in his food, and no one around him could vouch for him. He was really panicking.
Ji Meiqing continued to look at him, and without turning her head, she ordered, "Let Dahuang sniff it, then take it to the kitchen to look for it."
"Yes!"
A large group of people went to the kitchen. The food wasn't ready yet; some dishes were in the pot, and others were being prepared to be cooked.
Big Yellow wagged its tail energetically and walked over to each of the dishes one by one. Ji Meiqing naturally tasted the seasonings on the stove before following along.
All those seasonings look the same, and they all taste pretty much the same.
