Chapter 239 Meeting
Chapter 239 Meeting
Mo Ze and Qin Yiche bought the earliest flight from Jiangcheng to Gangcheng.
Mo Ze arrived a little earlier than him and sat in the VIP room for about ten minutes before Qin Yiche came in with his suitcase.
When Qin Yiche left in the morning, Lin Ling was still fast asleep.
He didn't tell her about his trip to Hong Kong. After all, they were just pretending to be boyfriend and girlfriend, and it wasn't necessary for them to report everything to each other.
However, when he picked her up last night, he mentioned in the car that he would be leaving for two days and told her to take care of her personal safety and to ask Sister Lin to arrange a car for her to come back if she worked too late.
Qin Yiche didn't even realize when he had become so kind-hearted and fussy.
He didn't say goodbye when he left in the morning; he just picked up his suitcase and left.
This time when I go back, I'm going to have a tough battle to fight.
Qin Yiche was eager to get started and even felt a little excited. With Mo Ze around, it felt like he, who had been fighting alone, suddenly had a support system.
He's always been a go-getter, and now with Moze joining the team, he seems eager to prove those people wrong.
"Brother~" Qin Yiche still addressed Mo Ze in a familiar and friendly manner.
Moze turned and glanced at him, but said nothing.
She seemed to have gotten used to Qin Yiche's friendliness.
Qin Yiche sat down next to Mo Ze, ordered an iced coffee, and drank more than half of it in one gulp.
He was still muttering to himself, "I got up too early, I'm so sleepy."
Then he turned to Mo Ze and said, "I hope my sister-in-law is alright on her own in Jiangcheng. I wonder what tricks that old fox will pull."
"Brother, have you thought of a way to deal with them?" Qin Yiche nudged Mo Ze gently and asked.
Moze shook his head and replied, "No."
"No!" Qin Yiche almost jumped up. He thought Mo Ze must have made preparations for going to Hong Kong alone. Now he was being told that he hadn't!
"So you're just going to go to Hong Kong like that? Aren't you afraid you'll be left with nothing but bones?" Qin Yiche said in an exaggerated way.
Mo Ze raised an eyebrow at him, his expression indifferent, as if asking, "Is it really that scary?"
Seeing that Mo Ze remained unmoved, Qin Yiche asked, "Brother, you really didn't secretly bring anyone over?" He stood up and looked around, and became nervous after confirming that Mo Ze was alone.
"Brother, listen to me. When we get back, you must keep your composure. We're going to someone else's territory, so we still need to be humble and try to please the old man. That's the purpose of our trip," Qin Yiche instructed Mo Ze.
Mo Ze is now genuinely curious about what Qin Yu's abilities are.
Qin Yiche is usually a sunny and lively person, so it's surprising that he's so worried about their safety in Hong Kong. Mo Ze has started to take this issue seriously.
"What kind of person is Qin Yu?" Mo Ze asked curiously.
Qin Yiche thought for a moment and replied, "He's probably what people often call a smiling tiger. When you meet him, he always acts kind and friendly, like a kind elder, but he's actually a ruthless person."
Moze nodded. "Yeah, that's perfect, I'm that kind of person too."
Qin Yiche was slightly taken aback when he heard him say that, then grinned and said, "Brother is definitely not like Uncle, he's completely different."
Moze didn't say anything more. Just then, the announcement came over the loudspeaker that boarding was about to begin, and the two of them got up and walked toward the boarding gate.
What awaits them on this trip to the port city?
Because it was an early morning flight, the plane landed in the port city quite early.
Mo Ze and Qin Yiche went to the hotel first, while the Qin family planned to go there later that evening.
Qin Yiche went into his room and prepared to take another nap. Since Mo Ze was going back that night, he didn't plan to go back early either, so he booked a room for Mo Ze.
Mo Ze arranged to meet Zhou Cheng'an at the hotel, partly to discuss the progress of the cooperation, and partly to ask for his help.
It was a meeting between friends, and Zhou Chengan came alone.
The meeting took place in a hotel room.
When Zhou Chengan arrived, Mo Ze had just put down his luggage.
He casually leaned against the table, exuding a carefree and unrestrained air. "What's up? Back to acknowledge your roots?"
Mo Ze mentioned to him the purpose of his trip to Hong Kong and also revealed his identity.
Mo Ze poured two glasses of red wine and handed one to Zhou Cheng'an. "The main thing is to meet him and put my parents at ease. Whether he acknowledges me or not is another matter."
Yes, he wasn't thinking about acknowledging his ancestors; he was just testing the waters.
"That old guy Qin Yu is not easy to deal with. He has connections in both the legitimate and criminal worlds. Now that you've stepped into his territory, you're probably going to be trapped like a turtle in a jar," Zhou Chengan said with a smile.
"But we still have you, the president of the Zhou Group, here with us," Mo Ze replied with a smile.
Zhou Chengan took a sip of wine. "You really think highly of me, coming here all by yourself."
Mo Ze curled his lips, "If he brings people with him, how can he make a move?"
Zhou Chengan narrowed his eyes, then chuckled, raised his glass and clinked it against Mo Ze's, "Alright, at your service."
"It's a pleasure doing business with you," Moze said.
The two men looked at each other and smiled.
At 6 p.m., Mo Ze and Qin Yiche set off for Qin's residence. Qin Yiche had his flashy red sports car in Gangcheng sent to the hotel in advance, and he drove that car back.
They drove the car directly to the gate.
Mr. and Mrs. Qin had already called and were waiting at the door.
Upon seeing Qin Yiche's car, they hurriedly went to greet it.
"You've arrived, just in time for dinner. Your grandfather and your uncle's family are all here," Qin's mother said warmly, pulling Mo Ze inside.
After greeting his parents, Mo Ze followed them into the villa.
The restaurant's large round table was laden with local specialties of Hong Kong. As Mo Ze entered, Qin Yu stood up and greeted him warmly, "You're here! Please have a seat, it's time to eat."
Guided by Qin's mother, Mo Ze sat down next to Qin Yiche.
Qin Yu told Qin Yifeng to call Mo Ze "Big Brother," and Qin Yifeng obediently did so.
Qin Heng introduced the person in the main seat to Mo Ze, "Aze, this is your grandfather."
The old man in the main seat seemed dissatisfied with Mo Ze. He glanced at Mo Ze with a displeased expression, his face serious, and remained silent.
Mo Ze greeted him casually, "Grandpa~"
The old man interrupted him, "It's better not to wake him up too early."
The Qin couple looked somewhat embarrassed, especially Qin Heng, who hadn't expected the old man to treat Mo Ze this way. Qin's mother, on the other hand, felt extremely sorry for him. She happened to be sitting on the other side of Mo Ze, and Mo Ze looked at her and gave her a comforting look.
Qin Yiche also felt indignant on Mo Ze's behalf and almost stood up impulsively, but Mo Ze pulled him back, preventing him from moving.
Finally, Qin Yu and his family of three were secretly delighted. Qin Yu took the initiative to smooth things over, saying, "Let's eat, let's eat first. It's good that the person has been found."
"We haven't seen each other for so many years, you should be careful not to bring just anyone back," Qin Yu's wife said sarcastically.
Qin Yu scolded, "Say less." Then he looked at Mo Ze and said, "Nephew, don't mind him."
Mo Ze didn't seem to care much. Since it wasn't someone he cared about, he felt no emotional turmoil. He calmly replied to Qin Yu, "I don't mind."
