Chapter 127 Library Review (Part 1)
"We're leaving. Do you want us to wait for you?" In the girls' changing room, the last group of people were preparing to leave.
"No need, I'd like to stay a little longer," another girl replied softly, standing in front of the locker.
"Okay, call me if you need anything."
"Goodbye."
As her friends left, she was left alone in the locker room. A surge of suppressed emotions welled up inside her, and she growled, "How dare he?"
She angrily touched the small wounds on her heel and shoulder, then slammed her fist into the locker with a loud bang, leaving a dent in the metal cabinet.
"why?"
She sat on the stool, head bowed, her body trembling slightly. The empty dressing room reminded her of a painful memory.
The old man's disgusting touch, the chilling smile on his face, the hand that grabbed her, and the suppressed scream that had never been uttered—all these scenes replayed in her mind.
"Ha...ha..." Her heart raced, and her breathing became rapid. Despite having experienced countless battles in training, this memory remained a shadow she could never overcome.
"Ugh!" A wave of nausea washed over her, and she rushed to the toilet, vomiting everything up. Although she felt a little better, her heart was still pounding.
She clenched her fists tightly, trying to calm herself. "I have to get through this," she whispered to herself, her knuckles turning white from the effort.
“That time, he was just lucky,” she repeated. “You’re not that weak little girl anymore; you can protect yourself.” These words seemed to have an effect, and her emotions gradually calmed down.
Her vision cleared, and her fierce yellow eyes slowly opened, filled with hatred. "Morse Scott," she murmured, the bastard's face flashing through her mind.
"Next time, I'll teach you a lesson," she muttered to herself, imagining herself defeating him and stomping on his face to declare victory.
In the empty locker room, she repeated the phrase over and over, trying to overcome her fear. Little did she know, fate was quietly waiting for her.
......
Meanwhile, in the library of the Arcadia Hunter Academy, the usually bustling space was now filled with students. Every desk was piled high with books, everyone diligently studying for the upcoming midterm exams.
“Hey, Sylvie, shall we take a break?” Jasmine asked in a low voice.
“Rest? I don’t know…” Sylvie hesitated.
“Come on, if we don’t rest soon, I’m going to fall asleep. We need to go out and get some fresh air; we’ve been sitting here for two whole hours,” Jasmine insisted.
“Sigh… alright.” Sylvie conceded.
The two quietly stood up, trying not to disturb the students around them. They quickly walked out of the library, leaving behind the dull atmosphere.
The courtyard outside the library appeared serene and beautiful under the soft glow of the magical engineering lights. A gentle breeze rustled through the treetops, and the distant sounds of students chatting during their break could be heard.
"Ah, that feels much better." Jasmine stretched and took a deep breath.
Sylvie nodded. "You're right, it is indeed too stuffy in there."
They stood at the entrance, away from the tense atmosphere of studying. Sylvie glanced at Jasmine and said softly, "I'm always so nervous before exams; it feels like the exam is just around the corner."
Jasmine nodded: "That's right, but we'll get through this."
“But where is Danielle?” Sylvie asked, looking at Jasmine. “She needs to study too; her grades aren’t particularly good.”
As Sylvie noted, Danielle was one of the lazier students. She spent most of her evenings at parties and gatherings, and was quite well-known among the freshmen.
“Daniel,” Jasmine looked up at the sky, “she said she’s going to see someone.”
"Meet someone...who is it?" Sylvie's curiosity was piqued.
"It's a boy."
Sylvie's eyes widened and her cheeks flushed slightly upon hearing this answer. She knew what meeting a boy at this time meant. "A boy? Who? Do you know him?"
'I can use this opportunity to get revenge on her.'
Sylvie thought to herself. She had always been somewhat resentful of her friend's countless teasing remarks, and now she felt she had found an opportunity to retaliate.
Jasmine smiled at Sylvie's reaction: "I'm not quite sure. She didn't say much about him, just that she was going to see him."
“I see…” Sylvie pretended to be nonchalant, but the blush on her face didn’t fade. “Well, I hope she has fun.”
Jasmine grinned. "Having fun? I'm curious what you mean by 'having fun'?" She moved closer to Sylvie. "Who were you thinking about just now?"
Hearing this, Sylvie blushed even more and stammered, "No... that's not it. I was just... curious."
Jasmine laughed heartily: "Curious? Really?"
silence!
At that very moment, the surrounding noise suddenly stopped.
"Hmm?" Jasmine was the first to notice something was wrong. She turned her head and saw a familiar figure, the boy who occasionally became their topic of conversation.
He was walking down the library corridor, carrying a large stack of books. Some students recognized him and turned to look at him. Although no one made a fuss, the silent pressure and the stares were enough to make anyone uncomfortable.
"Morse?"
Sylvie noticed him too.
"It seems he doesn't want to be expelled from the academy either," Jasmine said, watching him walk into the library. She didn't have a good impression of him; after all, the rumors surrounding him and his attitude so far had influenced her opinion.
“Yes, you’re right,” Sylvie replied, her curiosity temporarily diverted.
Jasmine stretched and yawned. "Alright, break time is over. We should go back to the library. I want to make the most of this study time."
Sylvie nodded, temporarily putting aside the topic of Danielle's meeting with the mysterious boy. "You're right, let's go back to studying." They turned and walked back to the library, ready to get back into studying for their midterms.
When Sylvie and Jasmine returned to the library and walked to their empty seats, they found that the seats next to them were no longer occupied by the same senior students.
Instead, another person took his place, Morse, who had just entered the library.
Morse sat there with a pile of books and notes spread out in front of him.

……
He was completely absorbed in his studies, and the aura around him clearly indicated that he did not want to be disturbed, just as he would when he was in the classroom.
Jasmine glanced at Sylvie and raised an eyebrow: "Looks like we've got some 'companion' here."
Sylvie was briefly distracted by Morse's appearance. She nodded slightly and whispered, "It seems so."
Although Jasmine didn't have a good impression of him, Sylvie didn't say anything bad about him, and she didn't want to make enemies unnecessarily.
Moreover, seeing that the books in front of him were all textbooks for their courses, Jasmine understood that he was serious, so she decided not to disturb him.
“Let’s sit down. It doesn’t matter who sits next to us,” Sylvie said softly, taking her seat. However, Jasmine knew she was trying to distract herself.
“You’re right.” Jasmine sat down and began to study as well.
So Sylvie and Jasmine decided to ignore Morse's presence and focus on their studies.
They opened their textbooks and notes and immersed themselves in her world of learning.
The library was filled with the rustling of pages turning, the tapping of fingers on keyboards, and the occasional hushed conversations of students discussing their studies.
