Chapter 350 Mom and Dad
Chapter 350 Mom and Dad
There was a knock on the study door, and the butler stood in the doorway: "Sir, Madam, Mr. Xue and Miss Wen have arrived."
"Why are they here? Did you send them?"
Ji Jingshen shook his head: "No, but why did they come together?"
The two got up and went downstairs from the study. Xue Jianchen sat down next to Wenya and handed her some fruit. When Wenya saw Song Qianyi and Ji Jingshen, she nudged Xue Jianchen with her elbow.
"Qianyi, Jing Shen."
Wenya called softly, standing up from the sofa. Song Qianyi walked over and sat down next to her: "Wenya, what brings you here today? And with Xue Jianchen, what do you want with us?"
She glanced at Xue Jianchen, who then looked at Ji Jingshen: "We saw the adoption announcement you posted, so we came here today to meet Yanxi."
Song Qianyi was surprised: "You want to adopt?"
"Yes, Wenya and I have been together for a while now. You all know about Wenya's health. We don't want to think about having children. We've met Yanxi before, so if we're meant to be, we'd like her to be our daughter."
Xue Jianchen and Wen Ya were the first people they heard about meeting Yan Xi today. Song Qianyi looked at Ji Jingshen and nodded. Ji Jingshen agreed: "Okay, let you talk to Yan Xi first and see what she thinks. I'll go call her down."
The two women respected Yanxi's thoughts very much; it was a matter concerning her entire life, and they couldn't afford to be careless.
Yanxi was called down and was a little scared when she saw Wenya and Xue Jianchen's unfamiliar faces. Song Qianyi stepped forward and took Yanxi's hand to comfort her: "Yanxi, don't be afraid. They are our friends. Your uncle and aunt know about you and came here specifically to adopt you and meet you."
She sat down next to Song Qianyi, glancing at Wenya and Xue Jianchen. Xue Jianchen got up and walked over, taking a Barbie doll from beside the sofa: "Your uncle and aunt bought this for you. They didn't know what you liked, so they bought this."
Yanxi glanced at the Barbie doll, then looked at Song Qianyi for her opinion. Song Qianyi smiled and said, "Keep it if you want it."
She reached out and took it, saying, "Thank you, Uncle."
Xue Jianchen was momentarily at a loss for words in front of the little girl, awkwardly trying to improve his favorability towards Yanxi. Wenya, who was next to him, laughed and gently walked over: "How can you talk like that? You'll scare Yanxi."
"If Yanxi doesn't like it, we can take you to the mall to choose it yourself next time, okay?"
Both of them were focused on Yanxi. Surrounded by her, Yanxi looked at Xue Jianchen squatting in front of her, and then at Wenya smiling gently beside her, and her heart was touched.
"Uncle and Aunt, do you really want to adopt me?"
Wenya nodded and took her hand: "Of course, we had already thought it through at home before coming to meet you. If you don't want to, that's okay too. We can get to know each other better later."
"I am willing."
Yanxi's words stunned Wenya and Xue Jianchen. She continued, "I am willing to live with you. In the past, apart from Aunt Song and Uncle Ji, no one was truly kind to me. I can feel that you really like me."
Song Qianyi smiled. She trusted Wenya and Xue Jianchen's character, and now that Yanxi was willing to live with them, it was the perfect ending, and she could finally put her mind at ease.
Upon learning that Yanxi was leaving today, Sui Sui held Song Qianyi's hand and looked at Yanxi with reluctance: "You must come to our house to play with me often in the future, and I will also go to your house to see you."
She reached up and wiped the corner of her eye, pouting.
Yanxi stepped forward and hugged Suisui: "Suisui, I will come to find you with your mom and dad. Don't worry, Aunt Song and Uncle Ji also promised to bring you to find me."
The two little girls said goodbye reluctantly, leaving the four adults both amused and exasperated. Just then, the secretary walked quickly over from the side.
"Mr. Ji, the orphanage director has run away and taken all the money from the house."
Ji Jingshen frowned in surprise: "Send people to find his whereabouts. We can't let him get away."
The orphanage director sat on the plane, and as soon as it landed, he quickly walked out of the airport. After hiding for a few days, he was captured by Andrei's men.
In a pitch-black room, the dean, wearing a black hood, lay trembling on the ground, his hands and feet tightly bound by ropes.
The sound of a lock being opened came from outside the house. The dean cleared his throat, closed his eyes, and felt his heart beating rapidly.
Andrei stood in front of the dean and kicked him: "If you keep pretending to be dead, I'll throw you into the sea to feed the fish."
The dean sat up abruptly, letting out a sob. Andrei sat in a chair, and the bodyguard beside him stepped forward to remove the hood and the towel from his mouth.
"Please, please let me go. I was wrong about what happened at the orphanage. I will never do it again. Please ask Mr. Ji to let me go. I will do anything Mr. Ji wants."
Andrei squinted at the dean, a dagger in his hand; "Who said I'm Ji Jingshen's man? Open your dog eyes and see clearly!"
The dean stared at the dagger in fear: "Then who are you? I haven't offended you. I can give you money if you want, as long as you let me go."
"I don't want money. I want to know what you've been doing in the orphanage, and why Ji Jingshen sent people to find you."
Andrei's gaze was very aggressive. The dean remained silent. Andrei stood up, squatted down in front of the dean, and played with the dagger.
“If you don’t speak, I’ll cut off a piece of your flesh if I delay even a minute. Don’t worry about dying, I have a doctor prepared next door. I’ll stop and call the doctor for you as soon as you open your mouth.”
The cold touch pressed against the director's neck, and he couldn't help but shiver: "I'll tell you everything. I work at an orphanage under Ji Jingshen's company, and I'm the director of the orphanage. I did some other things to the orphans in the orphanage before, so I was afraid that Ji Jingshen would come after me, so I ran away."
Andrei became interested and withdrew the dagger. The dean had just breathed a sigh of relief when the dagger came close again.
"I've told you everything you asked me to say, and I really didn't do anything else."
He stared at the director: "Who said I asked that question? After hearing what you said, I have a deal I want to make with you. You are being tracked by Ji Jingshen's men. I am Ji Jingshen's mortal enemy. If you work for me, I will help you get rid of Ji Jingshen, and the orphanage will still be yours."
The dean was very tempted by the suggestion: "Is what you're saying true? Why should I believe you?"
"You think you can taste the pain of being cut in my hands now that you're in my hands?"
Under Andrei's coercion and enticement, the dean agreed to his proposal.
