Sisters in the Deep Forest Valley: Many Fun Things

Chapter 115 Fluffy~

Chapter 115 Fluffy~

She grabbed the basket in her hand, humming a song softly, and walked towards the stream.

"Sis, what song are you humming? It sounds so familiar."

"Really? I was just humming it randomly~ You must have misheard." Then she walked ahead and continued humming the tune:

Ding ding ding, ding ding... ding ding ding ding, ding ding~

Lin Lanshan listened intently from behind, but couldn't make it out. She had no choice but to give up trying to find out more and followed them to the stream to wash the mud off her hands and feet.

The stream fish in autumn are plentiful and plump. After cleaning up, the two didn't leave, but squatted by the stream watching the dark shadows swimming inside, their mouths watering again…

"Sister, I saw crucian carp. Let's catch a couple and take them home, then grind some tofu and make crucian carp and tofu soup."

"The remaining tofu can be frozen solid in winter, and we can eat frozen tofu!" Lin Lanshan had already planned a bright future for the fish in the stream and the soybeans in the cellar.

Lin Chunyi put the washed basket on the ground. "Catch a few smaller ones. Palm-sized crucian carp are the best for making soup!"

Then he rolled up his trousers and sleeves high and went into the water.

She shivered from the cold water and said, "Ouch~ This water is way too cold! After today, let's not go into the water anymore, let's use harpoons instead."

Lin Lanshan had been barefoot the whole time, and had just washed in the stream, so she didn't feel too cold. "Sister, let's catch a few more to take back."

I promised to bring my aunt some big fish next time I visit. Fish speared and bloody, they're not good to carry and don't look nice."

"Alright, let's catch four small ones and make soup. Let's catch four large ones and put them in our spatial storage."

Their fishing skills are now quite advanced. Before long, the two happily put on their shoes and went home.

……

Good food waits for no one! The crucian carp is ready, all that's missing is the tofu.

So the two sisters went back and soaked half a basin of soybeans. The next day, before dawn, they ground them and pressed them into tofu.

While waiting for the tofu to set, the two couldn't stay idle. They carried their baskets and bows and arrows and headed into the deep mountains, hoping to try their luck with the meat.

The autumn air was crisp and clear, and even though the sun had already risen, the two sisters didn't feel much heat.

They wandered through vast forests, the dry, fallen leaves and branches crunching under their feet, making it difficult for them to move forward quietly.

The two decided to give up and swaggered off toward a place with water and plenty of wild fruit.

Luckily, as soon as I emerged from the woods, I spotted two roe deer, their heads bowed as they grazed on the ground.

"Whoosh," "Whoosh"

The two sisters' arrows shot through the air and pierced the neck of a roe deer.

The other one was shot in the foreleg near its neck, and after making two "moo" sounds, it struggled to run a few meters away.

Fortunately, another arrow flew by and pierced its neck.

Lin Chunyi walked over, picked up two roe deer that were several meters apart, and asked her sister, somewhat speechless:

"Lin Lanshan, what are you doing? Are you unhappy that they are too close together and don't want them to die together?"

"It hasn't been that long since I used it, and my archery skills have deteriorated so much. It took it this far to hit the target... If you let it run any longer, it could go home."

Lin Lanshan pulled out her two arrows, feeling guilty, and said:

"My skills got rusty after not using them for a while. Hehehe, sis, that was a mistake, I definitely won't do it again next time."

"We still need to practice everything; we can't neglect any of them. Let's go, let's walk a little further."

These two roe deer don't even weigh forty pounds together. After skinning and cleaning them, there won't be much meat left for us to eat." Lin Chunyi pulled out the arrow and lightly tossed the roe deer into his basket.

The two continued walking and encountered a pheasant, which they killed with a single arrow. Lin Lanshan's long-awaited pheasant stew with mushrooms was now ready.

After walking for another half hour, they caught another wild deer and two litters of nine wild rabbits.

Then they found a nest of wild eggs and even helped the eggs find their parents who were out having a tryst nearby...

"Lanshan, look! Look at the middle of that tree branch!" Lin Chunyi gently tugged at her sister's sleeve, pointing to a pine tree diagonally in front of her.

A furry little creature was sitting on a pine tree, holding a pine cone that was bigger than its head in its tiny hands.

Lin Lanshan exclaimed excitedly, "Big-tailed mouse!"

Squirrel: Don't you have any manners? You're the mouse!

It was startled and quickly grabbed the pine cone and climbed up, hiding in the dense pine needles.

"Are you crazy? You roared so loudly, you scared everyone away!"

"No, I was born in the Year of the Rat~ Hehe, I'm just so excited to see something fluffy, so very excited."

Lin Chunyi rolled her eyes, put down the basket, and took out a bright red strawberry from her spatial storage.

Then I walked to the tree, stretched out my hand high, and raised my voice to lure it:

"Little squirrel~ I won't catch you, come down quickly. Here, have some, it's sweet and delicious, and really, really tasty~"

A fluffy little head with its ears still bristling poked out from among the pine needles.

It poked its head out and then pulled it back in, then shook it and stuck out its little head again.

Lin Lanshan also grabbed a handful of dried peaches from her spatial storage. "I have some delicious dried peaches here, sweet and chewy!"

The two stood under the tree with their hands raised, as if offering sacrifices, speaking as softly and quietly as possible.

The little squirrel, having never experienced the wickedness of humans, thought that since the people wanted to give it food, they meant no harm, so it grabbed the tree and started climbing down.

The two sisters breathed softly, quietly waiting for it to come over.

Its head slowly approached their hands. It twitched its ears, sniffed the dried peach in Lin Lanshan's hand, and then the strawberry in Lin Chunyi's hand.

The little squirrel cautiously extended one of its front paws, grabbed the strawberry, and glanced at her again. It seemed to be asking, "Is this really for me?"

"Eat it, it's a gift for you." Lin Chunyi slowly extended her hand forward again, speaking softly.

It shoved the strawberry over, grabbed it with its paws, and quickly climbed up the high branch to nibble on the strawberry.

This sweet taste was something it had never experienced before. It happily wagged its fluffy, reddish-brown tail.

Lin Lanshan lowered her hand, still craning her neck to look, and said with some disappointment, "I really wanted to touch its tail, but it didn't want my dried peaches."

"Hehe, its little feet just stepped on my finger, so lightly."

And when you look closely, it's really cute. Its whole body is fluffy and soft." Lin Chunyi smiled so wide her mouth stretched out.

She was completely captivated by the little squirrel. If the squirrel would let her touch its tail, she would even give it another strawberry, one that she herself was reluctant to eat!

Neither of the two sisters found it tiring; they just stood under the tree, craning their necks, watching the little squirrel eat half a strawberry.

The little squirrel ate half of the strawberry, then hugged the rest and burrowed back into the pine needles, disappearing from sight.

"Ah, it went back..." Lin Chunyi had just sighed when, in the blink of an eye, two fluffy little heads popped out from the pine needles again!
