Rebirth of a Portable Space: Transforming My Hometown

Chapter 96 Reaction

Chapter 96 Reaction

Yang Yong'an and his team filmed for four days, and after a hasty departure on the last day, the filming came to an end.

Longyuan Town returned to its former tranquility, but the town's leaders and Yufei were eagerly awaiting Yang Yong'an's promotional video to be broadcast on television.

Yang Yong'an also worked very well, completing the film in just two days.

I called Yufei and the others to tell them that the final cut was complete and they just needed to submit it to their superiors for review; the chances of it being approved were very high.

He tried to get it aired during prime time, but he didn't expect to be blocked at the censorship office because of false advertising.

This left Yang Yong'an speechless. However, it wasn't the censors' fault; if he hadn't witnessed Longyuan Town firsthand, he too would have found it too fantastical.

Having no other option, he called the leaders of Longyuan Town again. Later, the town leaders pulled some strings to prove to the film review department that everything in the promotional video was true, and only then did it pass the review department's astonished scrutiny.

The promotional video premiered on a Saturday, during a commercial break in the variety show "Happy 5+1".

Yufei and the others were also on holiday. When Yang Yong'an told them that the program was going to air, they tacitly sat down in front of the television, which they hadn't watched in a long time.

"Hahaha! He's getting desperate!" Watching these variety shows occasionally is quite entertaining; the celebrities' antics in the games had Yufei's friends laughing out loud.

Time flew by in this hilarious atmosphere. When the commercials started, they seemed reluctant to leave, but quickly regained their enthusiasm.

As a soothing melody played, the flower season of Longyuan Town unfolded before them, its rhythm sometimes gentle, sometimes exhilarating, vividly showcasing the town's charm.

Purple lavender awaiting love, a vibrant rose garden, cherry blossoms fluttering in the air, sunflowers producing golden dust, lilies of the valley under the moonlight, fireflies singing, and the magnificent flight of white birds.

Every scene was so beautiful, Yufei felt it could be a computer screensaver. She asked herself, if this wasn't the place she had created, would she want to travel here? Her heart told her she would.

"How is it?" But since she was the one who planned and built this place, she suddenly felt a little insecure. She asked her friends if they didn't live here, as outsiders, they would be willing to come here.

Lin Tiantian and the others definitely nodded. Even though they had seen these sights for years, seeing them on TV still left them feeling quite amazed.

They were very confident in their hometown, but Lin Tiantian was still worried. She wondered what kind of world her friends had seen, and turned to ask Cui Yu'an, who had shamelessly followed Yufei home.

As someone who had just arrived in their town, Cui Yu'an was undoubtedly shocked when he first saw the promotional video, but upon reflection, he wondered if it was a bit fake. So he shared his thoughts with Yufei.

"It's beautiful, but a bit fake. I've seen the town in bloom before, but aren't the other scenes a bit like false advertising?"

"These are all true!" Before Yufei could say anything, Zhao Jing retorted angrily, as if she had been insulted.

Cui Yu'an shrugged and said, "As an outsider, I don't expect people from Longyuan Town to know so much about your town's affairs, but this is my immediate impression after watching this promotional video."

Yufei frowned. She understood Cui Yu'an's meaning and realized the problem: sometimes, too much perfection can be a problem, giving off a false feeling.

"Won't someone come over?" Yufei asked, sounding a little uncertain.

"Yes!" Cui Yu'an said confidently. "People have a natural curiosity, especially us Great Xia people. I think this sense of deception will make outsiders want to come in and find out, or expose the truth, and then they can have something to talk about with outsiders, saying that the propaganda is all fake."

Hearing Cui Yu'an's words, Yufei breathed a sigh of relief. As long as they could get in, that was fine. The scenery of Longyuan Town was even more beautiful than in the promotional videos, making them reluctant to leave.

At the same time, Yufei started to worry about what would happen if too many people came. She decided she needed to discuss it with her uncle and Uncle Lin.

Yufei has always been a woman of action. After thinking about it for a while, she entertained her friends and then went to the next building to find her uncle.

When Yufei arrived, her aunt's husband, Jiang Huai'an, and Lin Tiantian's father happened to be at her aunt's house watching the fruit channel.

There was no need for Yufei to call Lin Tiantian's father over. Yufei had already shared her thoughts with them, and they assured her not to worry, as they had considered all of her concerns and had made the necessary arrangements.

Jiang Huai'an felt that Yufei always seemed to have a phobia of insufficient visitor numbers. In fact, she was unaware of how popular their Longyuan Town was; during peak tourist season, they basically had to implement visitor limits.

So why would they engage in such promotion? Jiang Huai'an believes he can explain it with a term he recently came across—"hunger marketing."

They want outsiders to know what a treasure trove Longyuan Town is, but getting in for tourism isn't so easy. It gives people a feeling of wanting to see it but not being able to, a feeling of wanting to eat it but not being able to.

"Alright~ Just give us your ideas for the development of Longyuan Town. We'll handle the implementation and follow-up. Don't worry too much. Everyone in Longyuan Town is your strongest support. Go have fun with Lin Tiantian and the others, and get a good night's sleep."

After telling Yufei about the government's arrangements, Jiang Huai'an told her to relax and not worry too much or overwork herself.

Then he said he and her Uncle Lin wanted to chat some more, and told her to go away, ignoring Yufei. Yufei watched the two men drinking tea, chatting and laughing, seemingly discussing current affairs, and felt a sense of being abandoned.

The idea immediately made Yufei laugh. She decided to just focus on the technical aspects and leave the more complicated stuff to those ruthless people.

Just as Cui Yu'an had predicted, the ferry terminal across the river from Longyuan Town was packed with tourists wanting to visit the town the next day.

The reception staff of Longyuan Town Government are also in place to guide the flow of tourists.

Unbeknownst to Yufei, a large ticket checkpoint had been set up at the ferry terminal across the river. Everyone who wanted to cross needed to buy a ticket at the checkpoint, and the number of tickets was limited; once they were sold out, no one could board the ferry.

This maximizes the capacity of Longyuan Town to accommodate tourists and also boosts the economy of Longyang County, since tourists who cannot cross the river have to stay in Longyang County on the other side.

And so, with the roar of the ship, boatloads of tourists boarded the ship and set foot in Longyuan Town. Some were returning tourists who had been to Longyuan Town before, while others were new tourists who had come to see the promotional advertisements and wanted to see the truth.

These new tourists will eventually become returning visitors, but who knows if they'll be lucky enough to get a number on the waiting list again?
